Pinnacle Dermatology has been actively participating in clinical trials, which are essential research studies that help evaluate the safety, effectiveness and potential uses of new medical devices, treatments and medications. Our commitment to superior patient care is strengthened by our recognition of the importance of research in advancing dermatology and discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat skin conditions.
Why clinical trials matter
Dermatologists have many medications to treat skin conditions, but there is always a need for new and more effective treatments. Clinical trials give patients the opportunity to take part in studies of the latest medications being evaluated as potential therapies. These new medications may offer benefits not available with existing treatments and could lead to significant improvements in patient care.
How a clinical trial works
- The experimental medication or treatment is first tested in small groups of people to find the right dose and evaluate safety.
- Once the dose is determined, it is tested in large groups of volunteers to evaluate its safety and effectiveness for a specific condition, such as eczema, psoriasis or acne.
- This process helps make sure a medication is safe and effective before it becomes available to the broader population.

At Pinnacle Dermatology, we believe clinical trials are essential for advancing dermatology, improving patient care, and finding new treatments and cures for skin conditions. We encourage our patients to consider participating in clinical trials, which offer an opportunity to receive cutting-edge treatments and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.
